Isometric Words Based on Swap and Mismatch Distance

چکیده
An edit distance is a metric between words that quantifies how two differ by counting the number of operations needed to transform one word into other one. A f said isometric with respect an if, for any pair f-free u and v, there exists transformation minimal length from v via related such all intermediate are also f-free. The adjective “isometric” comes fact that, if Hamming considered (i.e., only mismatches), then define some subgraphs hypercubes. We consider case swap mismatch. compare it mismatch prove properties particular features their overlaps.

On swap-distance geometry of voting rules
Axioms that govern our choice of voting rules are usually defined by imposing constraints on the rule’s behavior under various transformations of the preference profile. In this paper we adopt a different approach, and view a voting rule as a (multi-)coloring of the election graph—the graph whose vertices are elections over a given set of candidates, and two vertices are adjacent if they can be...
متن کاملAnalyzing Edit Distance on Trees: Tree Swap Distance is Intractable
The string correction problem looks at minimal ways to modify one string into another using fixed operations, such as for example inserting a symbol, deleting a symbol and interchanging the positions of two symbols (a “swap”). This has been generalized to trees in various ways, but unfortunately having operations to insert/delete nodes in the tree and operations that move subtrees, such as a “s...
متن کاملDistance matrices and isometric embeddings
Matrices with random (or pseudo-random) elements appear naturally in different physical problems and their statistical properties have been thoroughly investigated (see e.g. [1]). A special case of random matrices, called distance matrices, has been recently proposed in [2]. They are defined for any metric space X with a probability measure μ on it as follows. Choose N points ~xj ∈ X randomly d...
متن کاملAcoustic discrimination among words based on distance measures
In the development of a large-dictionary real-time speech recognition system, an approach commonly accepted is based on a multi-stage design (ref 1). In the first stages, starting from the acoustic data produced by uttering an item (syllable, word, sentence), a fast selection of a small subset of the vocabulary is performed. In the last stage, a detailed search of the most likely item is conduc...
متن کاملTowards an optimal weighting of context words based on distance
Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) often relies on a context model or vector constructed from the words that co-occur with the target word within the same text windows. In most cases, a fixed-sized window is used, which is determined by trial and error. In addition, words within the same window are weighted uniformly regardless to their distance to the target word. Intuitively, it seems more reaso...
